In this issue, Dr. Tewari investigates the effectiveness of tadalafil for men with erectile dysfunction. In particular, he discusses the role of sildenafil in erectile dysfunction and the potential for improved erectile function.

Abstract

Erectile dysfunction is a common sexual dysfunction in men, affecting around 40% of the men. Although the prevalence of erectile dysfunction in men is increasing, little is known about the effective treatment options. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of tadalafil (Cialis Daily®) for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men with erectile dysfunction. This study is a prospective, longitudinal, and multinational study of men aged 40–75 years who have been diagnosed with erectile dysfunction in a primary care clinic. This study was conducted between January 2012 and December 2014. The sample consisted of men who received sildenafil (Cialis Daily®) and tadalafil (Cialis Daily®) for 36 weeks. The primary outcome was the treatment satisfaction (self-reported sexual satisfaction with erectile function). Secondary outcomes were the treatment satisfaction (total, self-reported sexual satisfaction with erectile function), sexual functioning, sexual satisfaction, and treatment satisfaction. The sample size was approximately 50 men, with a standard deviation of 5%. The sample size was based on a response rate of 65%. The results of the study are consistent with previous studies on tadalafil for erectile dysfunction in men with erectile dysfunction, where a response rate of 45% was found. However, the study results are not consistent with the studies published in peer reviewed journals. The results of this study show that tadalafil is effective for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men with erectile dysfunction. However, it is important to note that tadalafil is not a cure for erectile dysfunction. Further research is needed to determine whether tadalafil is effective for erectile dysfunction. The study findings should be interpreted in the context of current practice in the field of erectile dysfunction.
